Marcus Dewitt Carlock House

The Marcus Dewitt Carlock House, also known as Oaklea Mansion Bed and Breakfast, was originally built in 1903 as a two story structure with Neo-classical and late victorian architecture.  Designed for entertaining the first floor of the House features an entry sitting area, two main floor sitting rooms, and dining room.  Four sets of large double wooden doors separate each room and prominent original chandeliers adorn each room.  The main entry features a staircase made of rare curly pine.

In 1996, the Marcus Dewitt Carlock House was redesigned for a Bed and Breakfast.  The attic has been reconstructed to increase the number of  bedrooms to 7.  Each bedroom features its own private en-suite.

Re-opened to the public as the Oaklea Mansion Bed and Breakfast in 2022, the Marcus Dewitt Carlock House has been brought back to its 1903 glory and features antiques from the era and the Carlock Family.
